The State Duma adopted a law on the import of diesel fuel to Russia

OREANDA-NEWS State Duma deputies in the second and third readings adopted a law on the introduction of an imported damper for diesel fuel, which allows, if necessary, to start its purchases abroad. This is reported by Kommersant.
The mechanism can be activated only in case of a ban on the export of diesel fuel. Payments will be made for medium distillates sold on the domestic market during the year from the current month.
Last week, the government approved the extension of the import damper mechanism, previously introduced for gasoline amid fuel shortages and rising prices.
The mechanism itself was introduced in Russia in January 2019. It is intended to compensate oil companies for lost profits if the export price of fuel is higher than in Russia. In addition, it allows you to send to the budget excess profits received with the opposite price picture.
Until the summer of this year, the damper applied only to Russian-made petroleum products, since the threat to the domestic market could arise only if exports increased.
