OREANDA-NEWS  In the second and third final readings, State Duma deputies adopted a bill to double the maximum length of overtime— from 120 to 240 hours per year. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

Amendments are being made to Article 99 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. It is noted that the duration of overtime work during the day should not exceed four hours.

The explanatory note to the bill stated that 90 percent of Russians are ready to work overtime for additional earnings. In addition, the initiative will close the need for almost 49,000 jobs in a number of industries.

To increase the amount of overtime, it is necessary to register such an opportunity in a collective agreement or in an industry (intersectoral) agreement. The permit does not apply to workers with harmful working conditions of subclasses 3.3 and 3.4, they have a limit of 120 hours.

The current permit does not apply to employees of state and municipal institutions who work part-time for more than a quarter of the monthly working hours.

Pensioners and citizens of pre-retirement age, as well as workers with harmful working conditions of subclasses 3.1 and 3.2, are allowed to engage in additional overtime work only with their written consent and in the absence of prohibitions for health reasons.
