OREANDA-NEWS  The statement by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, about Moscow's readiness to discuss solutions related to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, indicates the beginning of negotiations with Kiev. This was stated by Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's Defense committee, in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».

Earlier, on July 27, Maria Zakharova said that Russia is ready for a diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, she stressed that Moscow agrees to a way out of the crisis, taking into account the understandings reached in Anchorage in August 2025.

"Maria Zakharova is an experienced diplomat, she understands what she is saying. I think these conditions have already been formulated. They don't say such things out of thin air. I think negotiations have already begun," Kolesnik said.

According to him, if Zakharova declared her readiness for negotiations, it means that new opportunities have appeared for the peaceful settlement process.

On July 28, a meeting will be held between US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky. According to media reports, the topic of the talks will be the resolution of differences between Russia and Ukraine.
