OREANDA-NEWS  Developed with the participation of Moscow radiologists, the state standard necessary for the safe design and maintenance of artificial intelligence systems in clinical medicine has entered into force, said Anastasia Rakova, Acting Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

She noted that the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies, which is taking place in Moscow healthcare, raised the question of the need to adopt norms regulating its use. Special attention is paid to this issue: the capital's specialists have been working on standards for the third year.

"The new state standard is already the 11th standard created in Russia for testing artificial intelligence, it has no analogues in the world. The document defines the requirements for each process of the life cycle of artificial intelligence systems. The use of standards will ensure the introduction of only proven, reliable solutions in practical medicine, will help in the development of new neural networks and testing existing ones," she is quoted on the website of the mayor and the government of Moscow.

It is noted that the new standard complements the existing state standard IEC 62304-2022. "The authors added to the set of processes of the life cycle of medical device software the need to monitor the artificial intelligence system at all stages related to operation," the article added.
