OREANDA-NEWS About 5 million organized tourists from Russia traveled abroad in the summer of 2023, most often Russians bought tours to Turkey, Abkhazia and the UAE. This was announced during a press conference in TASS by Dmitry Gorin, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT).
"5 million organized tourists traveled to other countries in three summer months," he said.
The most popular foreign destinations among Russian organized tourists in the summer were: Turkey (at least 2.6 million tourists in three summer months), Abkhazia (1.2 million), the UAE (350 thousand), Egypt (300 thousand) and Thailand (180 thousand) In addition, Russians traveled to the Maldives (55 thousand people), Cuba (35 thousand), Sri Lanka (27 thousand) and Seychelles (11 thousand), Gorin said.
As for Thailand, 800 thousand Russians visited it in six months. This is a fairly high dynamics of the tourist flow recovery, the expert noted.
