OREANDA-NEWS  According to the results of 2022, the trade turnover between Russia and the EU reached its maximum in eight years, imports of Russian goods were at a historic maximum, and a record deficit appeared in trade with Moscow.

The import of goods from Russia to the European Union in 2022 increased by a quarter and reached €203.4 billion.

Exports from the EU to Russia decreased by 38.1%.

The trade turnover between Russia and the European Union has reached €258.6 billion.

As a result, the EU's trade deficit with Russia reached a record €148.2 billion by the end of the year.

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the new EU sanctions lists are absurd, since restrictions are imposed against people who are not related to any sanctions topic.

Acting Russian Permanent Representative to the European Union Kirill Logvinov said that the effect of the tenth package of EU sanctions imposed on Russia will be limited.
