OREANDA-NEWS  The United States is ready to discuss with Ukraine the expansion of the geography of strikes against Russia, said John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communications at the National Security Council.

"I think that no one should be shocked that President Zelensky, on the one hand, is grateful, and on the other hand, continues to promote his case. That's why we're going to have this conversation. We will have such discussions with Ukrainians," he said at a media briefing.

Kirby added that he could not yet say whether these discussions would lead to "additional political changes," clarifying that the United States would not "turn its back on Ukraine's needs."

Washington, he said, will continue to modify support as the situation on the battlefield "evolves."

Last week, the US administration allowed Ukrainians to use the weapons transferred to them against targets in the Russian territory adjacent to the Kharkiv region, but upheld the ban on cross-border strikes with ATACMS tactical missiles and other long-range fire weapons.
