Transneft noted a decrease in the number of illegal break-ins into oil pipelines by 14%

OREANDA-NEWS The number of unauthorized taps into the Transneft pipeline system in 2024 decreased by 13.8%, to 50 cases, according to the company's annual report.
Of the total number of oil pipelines, 17 accounted for trunk oil pipelines (29% less than the level of 2023), and 33 oil product pipelines (2.9% less).
The largest decrease in the number of illegal encroachments was recorded in the Perm Region - from 6 to 2 NSV, the Tyumen Region - from 4 to 0, the Ryazan Region - from 8 to 5 and the Ulyanovsk Region - from 3 to 0. "At the same time, the activity of criminal groups engaged in the theft of oil in the Samara and Nizhny Novgorod regions, petroleum products - in Ryazan, Tula regions, as well as in the capital region," the company notes.
In 2024, law enforcement agencies, with the assistance of Transneft employees, stopped 11 thefts of oil and petroleum products (13 in 2023), 49 intruders were detained, 14 of them for crimes of previous years. 113 criminal cases have been initiated on the facts of the NSV, 23 of which have been sent to court.
The company reports a 19.4% increase in 2024 (58 facts, 72 in 2023) The number of thefts (not related to thefts of oil and petroleum products) of other property of the Transneft companies has decreased. At the same time, the material damage from such thefts increased from 17.9 million rubles to almost 70 million rubles in 2024.
"The increase is directly related to the theft of 13294 m of pipe at Transneft Siberia during the dismantling of the Lyantorsky KSP - Fedorovskoye KSU pipeline. The damage amounted to more than 53.4 million rubles, or 76.3% of the total amount of damage from all such thefts for the year," the report says.
