OREANDA-NEWS  US President Donald Trump, in a conversation with his allies, admitted that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin may be ready to exchange territories as part of the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. Bloomberg writes about this, citing sources.

According to sources, the American leader held a conversation with US allies after the visit of his special envoy Steven Witkoff to Moscow. During the conversation, Trump positively assessed the prospects for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

The agency's interlocutors also reported that the head of the White House, in a conversation with his allies, allegedly admitted the readiness of his Russian counterpart to start peace talks. According to sources, Trump called the discussion of the exchange of territories the main condition for Russia to start negotiations.

Earlier, the Russian leader's assistant for international affairs, Yuri Ushakov, said that the meeting between Putin and his American counterpart was expected to take place next week.
