OREANDA-NEWS. Turkey has pledged to neutralize radical extremist groups that prevent joint patrolling with Russian troops in Syrian governorate of Idlib.

This was reported by the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic. “The Turkish side pledged in the near future to take measures to neutralize radical extremist groups that impede the movement of columns of joint patrols of the M-4 motorway in the security corridor,” the statement says.

On March 5, negotiations between the presidents of Russia and Turkey took place in connection with the aggravation of the situation in Idlib. After the meeting, a joint document was adopted. The parties declared the introduction of a ceasefire regime and agreed to patrol M4 jointly.
