OREANDA-NEWS   The detachment of a salt build-up in Uralkali's Solikamsk potash Mine N3 (SKRU-3, Perm Krai) led to the death of two mine workers, the company's press service told Interfax.

"On February 13, 2025, at 10:00 local time (08:00 Moscow time), two mine workers were fatally injured at the SKRU-3 mine during routine inspection of the shaft as a result of the detachment of a salt build-up from the support," the press service said.

A commission has been set up at the company to investigate the causes of this accident. The press service noted that the company's production facilities are operating normally.

In turn, the regional prosecutor's office announced in its telegram channel that an inspection had been organized in connection with the incident.

The Regional Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia informs that a criminal case has been opened on the fact of an emergency under Part 3 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of two persons by negligence).

Earlier, with reference to the emergency services, it was reported that the incident occurred in the trunk of N1 SKRU-3 at a depth of 48 m, two people were trapped under the rubble.
