Typhoon hits the Russian region

OREANDA-NEWS Typhoon Jebi has hit the Khabarovsk Territory. The disaster affected three districts in the Russian region, TASS reports, citing the local government.
"The bad weather affected Vaninsky, Verkhnebureinsky and Sovetsko-Gavansky districts," the administration said. Due to the powerful wind, snow and precipitation sticking to the trees, several settlements were left without electricity.
The typhoon also damaged the roofs of houses and toppled trees, which fell, including on power lines. Schools, residential buildings, kindergartens and boiler houses were temporarily deprived of access to electricity. Utilities and power engineers promptly eliminated the consequences of the accident — boilers and power supply are operating normally.
Earlier, typhoon Dujuan struck Japan and deprived several thousand people of electricity. The disaster caused landslides in the Chiba Prefecture adjacent to Tokyo. As a result, one of the railways, which was used by 54 thousand people daily, was cut.
