OREANDA-NEWS  The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to unilaterally withdraw the country from a number of agreements and treaties with Russia, Belarus, as well as within the CIS, Taras Melnichuk, representative of the Ukrainian government in the Verkhovna Rada, said on Wednesday.

According to Melnichuk, the Government of Ukraine has approved a draft law "On the termination, withdrawal and denunciation of international treaties of Ukraine concluded by the Government of Ukraine with the Governments of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States." We are talking about the withdrawal and denunciation of 14 international treaties.

In particular, Ukraine is withdrawing from agreements with Russia on the mutual settlement of debts for supplied energy resources from 1997, on the terms of reserve supplies and payment for Russian natural gas to Ukraine in 2001, and on the provision of a state loan to finance the completion of nuclear power plants in Ukraine from 2002.
