OREANDA-NEWS. US strategic bombers will regularly patrol the sky over Ukraine. This was announced on September 14 by the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Such patrols will be regular, because the B-52 missions in the skies of Ukraine are part of the long-planned deployment of six B-52s at Fairford airbase of the Royal Air Force of Great Britain,” the report says. It was clarified that the bomber flights are planned to provide strategic and operational capabilities to contain Russia.

According to the monitoring of Western aviation resources, two B-52H Stratofotress aircrafts of the US Air Force took off from the Fairford airbase in the United Kingdom and at 10:44 UTC entered the airspace of Ukraine in the Lviv Region.

The B-52 was designed to deliver thermonuclear bombs to any point in the Soviet Union. Six of these aircrafts were redeployed from the mainland US to the UK on August 22.
