OREANDA-NEWS By the end of October 2025, Russian services had received 2,275 applications from European residents about their intention to move to the Russian Federation. This was stated by the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin in Telegram.

Referring to the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Volodin noted that about 150 people apply for relocation to Russia every month. Most often, they are citizens of Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, France and Estonia.

"European citizens cite security, free medicine and education, freedom of speech, lack of propaganda of non—traditional values and gender reassignment, and growing economic problems in their homeland as reasons for choosing Russia," Volodin said.

Earlier, Russia simplified Russian language proficiency testing for three categories of migrants. They were talking about participants in the state program to facilitate the voluntary resettlement to Russia of compatriots living abroad, as well as those who share traditional spiritual and moral values and decided to move to Russia for this reason, as well as family members of heads and employees of diplomatic missions and consulates.
