OREANDA-NEWS. Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said that many in the EU are not interested in solving the migration crisis and other common threats, for example, creating hotbeds of military tension.

"In the European Union, many are absolutely not interested in constructively resolving challenges and threats common to the region and the world community as a whole. This also applies to the migration crisis and the creation of hotbeds of military tension," Makei quoted the Belta news agency as saying on Friday.

According to him, these problems "should be talked about openly, and not blamed on one side or the other." “Unfortunately, we do not see such openness, sincerity and real interest on the part of our Western partners,” the minister said.

Meanwhile, NATO is holding constant consultations with allies on the situation on the border between Poland and Belarus, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at the NATO Talk 2021 conference in Berlin.

"We are deeply concerned about this situation on the border. I spoke with the Polish president, we have repeatedly discussed this issue in the alliance, Poland keeps us informed of the situation. NATO is holding constant consultations on this issue," he said.

Since the beginning of the year, Polish border guards have recorded more than 34 thousand attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border, of which 6 thousand in November, about 17.3 thousand in October, almost 7.7 thousand in September and more than 3.5 thousand in August.
