OREANDA-NEWS. Facebook intends to complement Instagram with a new messenger to maintain close digital contact with close friends and relatives.  About the development of the Threads application, designed to lure young users from Snapchat, The Verge learned.

 According to the publication, with this messenger, users can exchange text messages, photos and videos with “closest friends” on Instagram, in addition, Threads will automatically share information about the user's location, speed and level of charge of the device.

 At the moment, the application is undergoing internal testing on Facebook.

 “At the same time, Threads is based on messaging, and it is very similar to the existing Instagram messaging option,” writes The Verge.

 The timing of the launch of the new application is currently unknown.  Instagram declined to comment on The Verge application development.
