OREANDA-NEWS. French President Emmanuel Macron did not agree with the words of his American colleague Joe Biden, who claimed that Russia's actions in Ukraine were "genocide". It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to France 2 TV channel.

According to him, it is necessary to choose terms more carefully, since we are talking about fraternal peoples.

“What is happening is madness, it is a return to war in Europe. But at the same time, I look at the facts, I want to try as much as possible to stop this war and restore peace,” Macron said.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden confirmed that he considers the actions of Vladimir Putin's Russian colleague against Ukraine "genocide". According to him, Washington has "more evidence" in favor of such a claim.

Macron has already made remarks to the head of the United States about the statements addressed to Putin. After the American leader called Putin a "butcher", the French president said that he "would never use" such words against Putin, and also called for refraining from "words and actions that could lead to an escalation" of the conflict in Ukraine.
