OREANDA-NEWS The Russian army was able to test the long-range "military Internet", which involves the high-speed transmission of data over an extremely long distance.

According to Izvestia with reference to representatives of the department, more than one and a half thousand mobile communication and encryption systems, as well as special equipment, were used to create the network.

During the tests, which were carried out in the Central Military District, large volume files were transmitted over radio channels over a distance of over 2 thousand kilometers.

This network is autonomous and does not communicate with the "external" Internet, and all information was redirected through the equipment of the Ministry of Defense, which allowed to avoid leaks.

“Unlike the Internet, these are completely closed channels. The main advantage of military communications networks is that they are completely autonomous and resistant to external influences,” said Viktor Murakhovsky, editor-in-chief of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine.
