OREANDA-NEWS Google was fined 700 thousand rubles for selective filtering of search results, according to Roskomnadzor.

"The control event recorded that more than a third of links from a single registry of prohibited information are stored in the search," - explained in the release. The company is obliged to hide links to resources with illegal information, access to which is limited in Russia.

However, at the end of May, the specialists of the supervisory authority established that this is not always the case, which is a violation of the law “On Information”.

In late June, the head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov, warned that Google faces a fine. He also noted that by the end of July all formal procedures in this case would be carried out.
