OREANDA-NEWS  The main radio frequency center (GRCHTS, subordinated to Roskomnadzor) is preparing to launch the Vepr system to identify "potential points of tension in the network that can develop into information threats", the launch is scheduled for the second half of 2023, RIA Novosti was told in the press service of the GRCHTS.
 
"The development of the Vepr information system has been underway since 2022. To date, the first modules of the system are undergoing internal testing, the launch is scheduled for the second half of 2023," the report says.

It is clarified that Vepr with the Oculus pattern recognition system with prohibited information are part of a single system for monitoring the information space. "Vepr" is designed to identify potential points of tension in the network that can develop into information threats, analyze them, and predict the subsequent spread of destructive materials," Roskomnadzor added.

In mid-February, the GRFC announced that it had launched the Oculus information system to search for prohibited content on the network and identify violations of Russian law in images and videos.
