OREANDA-NEWS. Secretary of State for European Affairs at the French Foreign Ministry Clement Bon said that there are no signs of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine yet, reports radio France inter.

“Is a military scenario for resolving the situation in Ukraine possible? No. But if, in order to protect the sovereignty of Ukraine, it is necessary to adopt new sanctions that could harm us ourselves, we will do it,” Bon said.

According to him, if new sanctions have to be adopted to protect the sovereignty of Ukraine, then Paris will take such a step.

“Sanctions are a difficult option, we must be united on this, but we do not see a military option. Sanctions are already a strong signal,” the official stressed.

France is considering all scenarios for the development of the situation around Ukraine, the Secretary of State at the Foreign Ministry drew attention.

He noted that the suspension of Nord Stream 2 could be temporary.

“The project has been suspended by Germany for the time being, but the conditions may change, the decision on Nord Stream 2 has become part of a package of tough sanctions. This is a very strong signal,” Bon said.

He recalled that the gas pipeline is still idle, but Europe allegedly has enough gas to "survive this winter."

Earlier, France did not rule out the development of all scenarios with Ukraine.
