OREANDA-NEWS The Windows 11 operating system (OS) has dramatically gained popularity among Russian users. 

According to the Statcounter agency, in November 2025, the share of Windows 11 among Russian users of Microsoft OS was 36.13 percent. At the same time, in September, its share was 28.77 percent. Earlier in the year, the popularity of the current OS grew slowly. In August, the share of Windows 11 was 21.87 percent, in July — 20.17 percent, in June — 19.57 percent.

At the same time, Windows 10, released in 2015, is still the most in-demand OS from Microsoft in the Russian market. Its share in November was 57.31 percent. So, in September, the share of the operating system was 66.25 percent, in August — 72.06 percent.

Worldwide, Windows 11 is considered the most popular OS — its share in November, according to Statcounter, reached 53.79 percent, Windows 10 — 42.62 percent. For the first time, the current system surpassed Windows 10 in popularity in June.

At the end of November, the American corporation Dell announced that 500 million personal computers had not been upgraded to Windows 11.
