OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian film company Bazelevs, known for the film series "Christmas Trees" and "Bitter!" and the film adaptation of the novel "Night Watch", has signed an agreement with the Turkish film and animation producer Yeni Dusler Animation. This was reported to RBC by a representative of Bazelevs.

As part of the partnership, the companies will work on the production of an animation project about the adventures of Khoja Nasreddin, one of the main characters of Oriental folklore. The project will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov, the founder of Bazelevs Studio and its owner until 2022. A representative of Bekmambetov said that he knew about the deal. RBC sent a request to Yeni Dusler Animation.

Turkish production will finance the production of the project, and will also receive the rights to its distribution in the country, the representative of Bazelevs clarifies. Yeni Dusler Animation is known primarily as the main content provider for the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, which unites eight national and international TV channels, including the main Turkish TV channel TRT, 19 radio stations, as well as several news sites.

Production of the project is already underway, the release is scheduled for 2024, the representative of Bazelevs clarifies. According to the creators, the cartoon will have to start a new film universe: the studio is developing a series, comics and a VR project. In addition, Yeni Dusler Animation will also invest in the opening of an animation school in Turkey, which will be taught by Bazelevs specialists. The amount of the transaction is disclosed in the company.
