OREANDA-NEWS Student of the Confucius Institute of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) Danil Pyshny became the first Russian to win the World Competition for schoolchildren "Chinese is a bridge" in the entire history of this competition, the university reports.

"Danil Pyshny, a graduate of the Confucius Institute of the FEFU, a graduate of Vladivostok School No. 28, took part in the final of the World Competition for Schoolchildren "Chinese is a Bridge", which took place on October 31 in Beijing. For the first time in the history of the competition, a representative of Russia won," the university said.

FEFU Rector Boris Korobets noted that the interest of schoolchildren from all over Russia in the Chinese language is growing every year, including this can be seen by the increasing number of students at the Confucius Institute.

The Chinese language contest "Chinese is a bridge" for schoolchildren is held in more than 130 countries. It is designed to arouse students' interest in learning Chinese language and culture. The regional stage of the competition is traditionally held by the Confucius Institute of the FEFU with the assistance of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Vladivostok.
