Almost 50 million people visited cinemas in the first half of the year

OREANDA-NEWS 49.5 million people watched Russian films in cinemas over the past six months, and box office receipts totaled 23.7 billion rubles, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said in an interview with RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the SPIEF.
"From the good news: We have not sunk, we have not fallen, and in terms of indicators for the first half of the year we are slightly higher this year than last year. It is important to note that the results of the first half of the year were 49.5 million people who came to Russian cinemas. The box office receipts of our films amounted to 23.7 billion rubles," she said, speaking about the results of the domestic film distribution in the first six months.
Lyubimova noted that in the first half of the year there are already four billionaire films - Cheburashka 2, Prostokvashino, The Tale of Tsar Saltan and Pinocchio.
