OREANDA-NEWS  The "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beasts" franchises will be removed from Russian online cinemas from February 1. This is reported by RBC with reference to the press service of Amediateka.

"The term of the license rights for this particular content, the films of the Harry Potter universe, ends as planned on January 31," the company noted.

According to RIA Novosti, films about the wizard Harry Potter will also not be available from this date in the online cinema OKKO.

In April, the copyright holders of the Harry Potter works announced the suspension of cooperation with Russian digital bookstores. In this regard, sales of the series of novels about the wizard increased 48 times in 2 days.

Earlier it was reported that Soyuzmultfilm plans to release animated films that will become a Russian alternative to foreign films "Harry Potter" and "The Lord of the Rings". According to the chairman of the studio's Board of Directors, Juliana Slashcheva, the relevant projects are currently being developed.
