OREANDA-NEWS   The Milan Opera House "La Scala" will continue to stage Russian ballets. This is reported by TASS.

It is noted that the representatives of the theater were satisfied with how the recent premiere of the opera "Boris Godunov" with Russian artists took place on the stage of "La Scala" on December 7. "In general, the opera went well. On the opening night of the season, when the premiere took place, the theater earned almost 2.5 million euros. This is not a record, but it corresponds to the general level of our discoveries. We have returned to the level before the pandemic," La Scala said.

"We choose who to cooperate with based on professional and artistic qualities, and Russians are specialists in such a repertoire," the theater said. According to representatives of La Scala, the opera Boris Godunov was a success, and all tickets for The Nutcracker were also sold.

In November, the Consul General of Ukraine in Milan, Andriy Kartysh, demanded that the leadership of the city and the La Scala Theater cancel the opera Boris Godunov. However, the theater still presented the production at the opening of the season.
