OREANDA-NEWS  An agreement on cooperation in the field of cinematography will be signed between Russia and Iran, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said after a meeting with the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Orientation.

"We have discussed a number of projects in the field of cinematography. We will start by signing a joint agreement on film production," Lyubimova told reporters on Tuesday.

According to her, both Russian and Iranian producers need such an agreement.

In turn, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Orientation of Iran, Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili, said that the days of Iranian culture taking place in Moscow will be "the preamble of a new round of agreements on the development of cultural ties between our countries."

"Iran and Russia are strategic allies in the region, and we, of course, should have very extensive cultural activities in various directions (...) We have agreements on the development of culture, on the development of cooperation in the field of cinematography and theaters, and so on," he added.
