OREANDA-NEWS  In 2023, Russian tourists began to spend more on traveling in Russia and abroad. This was announced by Maya Lomidze, executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), speaking at a conference within the framework of the MITT tourism exhibition, Interfax writes.

According to her, the reason is the increase in prices for holidays in all segments, as a rule, from 5 to 15, in some cases up to 30 percent. In addition, the increase in spending was influenced by the growth of transportation costs. Lomidze noted that in foreign destinations, the price was affected by a massive shortage.

"In the domestic markets, we have cities that were popular in previous years, with which air traffic is closed. There is a shortage of transportation and the share of the transport component, its importance has greatly increased. It affects the price, flows, consumer behavior," said the executive director of ATOR.
