OREANDA-NEWS Russian tourists became leaders in trips to the Thai island of Phuket in September 2023. This is reported by Phuket News with reference to the country's Immigration Bureau.

It is noted that during the first month of autumn, more than 40 thousand Russians visited the popular Asian resort. Thus, every sixth traveler was a citizen of the Russian Federation.

In second place were tourists from China (37 thousand people). The top five in September also included vacationers from Australia, India and Malaysia.

According to experts, by winter, the number of arrivals of Russians to Phuket should return to the level of 2022, when about 90 thousand people flew to the island every month during the high season.
