OREANDA-NEWS  Russians have massively stopped traveling to Europe — the flow from Russia in 2022 decreased by 80-90 percent. Dmitry Gorin, Vice-president of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry, told Izvestia about this.

According to the expert, the decrease in the interest of compatriots to travel in this direction was affected by logistical difficulties, the lack of direct air transportation with Europe and the rise in the cost of travel. "If earlier a ticket to Europe cost an average of 300-400 euros, now it costs from a thousand euros. And the flight time has increased from three hours to 8-24 hours," he added.

Artur Muradyan, Vice-President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), noted that judging by the statistics of visa centers of the most popular countries among Russians (Greece, Italy and Spain), the drop in applications was 80 percent, and this figure is even higher for other European destinations.
