OREANDA-NEWS Sales of tours from Russia to the UAE decreased by 30-40% amid the resumption of the Iran-Israel conflict and a severe disruption of flights in the Middle East region, there are cancellations of tours, while many other destinations and flights are on the market, and tourists have a choice, the press service of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) told reporters.

"According to the data of the group of companies, immediately after the resumption of the Iran-Israel conflict and the severe disruption of air traffic in the Middle East region, demand for the United Arab Emirates decreased by 30-40%, and there are cancellations of tours. According to experts, the further development of the situation will depend on the duration and scale of the conflict," the report says.

As the head of international projects noted Lyubov Voronina, managing director of the Let's Fly tour operator, said that the situation in the Middle East affected the UAE the most: in the period from June 13 to June 16, sales decreased by 30-40% compared to the period of June 6-9. There is a drop in Egypt, but it is very insignificant. Tours to Israel and Iran are not available on the aggregator. According to her, the Maldives was the least affected by the situation, where sales volumes remained almost at the same level.

"And now this is being overlaid with serious transportation problems that are alarming tourists. I think they will pause for a while, and we will see a drop in demand for both the Emirates and Egypt. Everything will depend on the scale of the conflict. But, unlike the same events two years ago, there are now many more destinations and flights, tourists have a choice," Olga Galanova, director of the Sky Voyage agency, is quoted in the message.
