OREANDA-NEWS   The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has issued a warrant for the arrest in absentia of comedian Semyon Slepakov (entered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the register of foreign agents).

At the request of the investigator, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention for a period of two months from the moment Slepakov was handed over to Russian law enforcement agencies in case of extradition or deportation to the territory of the country, or from the moment of his actual detention. The press service provided a video from the courtroom.

The footage shows the defendant's lawyer, an empty client's chair next to it, and the judge announcing the decision to arrest Slepakov.

The investigators requested his arrest as part of a criminal investigation initiated under Article 330.1 ("Evasion from fulfilling duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The comedian has been charged in absentia and is wanted.

According to the Investigative Committee, Slepakov was brought to administrative responsibility twice during the year for violating the established procedure for carrying out the activities of a foreign agent. After leaving the country, the comedian distributed unmarked materials on the social network.

The case was announced on April 9.
