St. Petersburg Opera and Tunis Opera House have agreed to cooperate

OREANDA-NEWS The St. Petersburg Opera Theater has agreed to establish long-term relations with the Tunisian Opera Theater. This is the result of the visit to this country of the artistic director of the troupe of the People's Artist of Russia Yuri Alexandrov.
"We have agreed with the Tunisian side to establish cooperation between the collectives of our theater and the Tunisian Opera House. Our team is ready to work with local specialists in order to improve their professional level and further participate in productions in Tunisia," Alexandrov told reporters. He expressed gratitude to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Tunisia, as well as to the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo for a rich program and familiarity with the key sites of this country.
In the near future, a working group will be created to organize projects of the St. Petersburg Opera Theater and cultural institutions of Tunisia. In 2024, it is planned to hold a series of master classes, creative meetings for compatriots and cultural and artistic figures of Tunisia, share the best practices of management in the field of culture, and also present the performance "Rigoletto" to the public. The area of cooperation and the program can be expanded, the artistic director of the theater believes. The Russian House in Tunis is ready to provide the necessary assistance for the implementation of the planned projects.
The State Chamber Music Theater "Saint Petersburg Opera" was founded by Yuri Alexandrov in 1987. This director is known for his productions at the Arena di Verona, the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, the Bolshoi and the Mariinsky Theaters. In recent years, the performances of the St. Petersburg theater have been successfully held in France, Greece, Serbia, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and the United Arab Emirates.
