The Cinema Foundation demanded to raise the amount of national content

OREANDA-NEWS The Russian film industry faces the task of raising the amount of national content to 70%, said Fyodor Sosnov, Executive director of the Cinema Foundation.
According to the website of the Ministry of Culture, the share of national films in the Russian box office in 2022 by October amounted to 54.3%, which is 4.2% higher than in the same period in 2021 (50.1%).
"For a long time, the bar of 30% was set, which we had to achieve and maintain in our national market at the expense of national content ... There was a 30% task, now the task is reversed — 70% of national content. Anyway, 30% will be closed with content from friendly states and countries that do not restrict the supply of content to our territory. But 70% of the audience flow should be covered by national content," Sosnov said at the final industry conference "The Film Industry in the New Reality."
