OREANDA-NEWS The Cinema Foundation will support the production of films about Alexander Pushkin, Peter I, the new film adaptation of "Pinocchio" and the prequel of the franchise "The Last Hero", the press service of the Foundation reported.

"The Cinema Foundation has completed the selection procedures to support the production of national feature films of the leaders of domestic film production (...) According to the results of the selection procedures, 9 national films of the leaders of domestic film production were approved for receiving support," the message says.

Funding will be allocated for Nikita Mikhalkov's studio TRITE project about Peter I "The Birth of an Empire", which tells about Peter's life during the Northern War, for a film about Alexander Pushkin "The Prophet" ("Central Partnership"), a new film adaptation of "Pinocchio" ("Hydrogen 2011") and a prequel to the series of films "The Last bogatyr" - "The First bogatyr" ("VBD Group").

The Cinema Foundation will also support the production of projects by the STV film company - the film "Gorynych", according to which the Navy lieutenant will have to make friends with the Gorynych cub in order to save the Russian Principality with him, and the film "The Ninth Planet".

In addition, the Foundation will allocate funding for the production of the film "Basil" by Art Pictures Studio about twin brothers separated in childhood, the spy thriller "Guantanamera", a film whose events take place during the Cold War "North Pole - 8" (Central Partnership company).

The Cinema Foundation has also selected 11 more films that are created by studios that are not leaders of domestic film production, and funding will also be allocated for them.
