OREANDA-NEWS The cost of summer holidays in Russia this year compared to last year has increased by 15% on average, in some regions the increase was up to 50%. At the same time, summer holidays in Crimea have fallen in price by about 30%, Alexey Volkov, president of the National Union of the Hospitality Industry (OSIG), told TASS at the Horeca Fest 2023 forum in the hospitality industry, held on the territory of Mriya Resort & SPA.

"On average, the cost of summer holidays has increased by 15%. In the Sochi cluster, mountain and sea holidays have risen in price by up to 50% this summer compared to last summer, Moscow and St. Petersburg - by 15%. Holidays in the Kaliningrad region and Dagestan also increased by about 10-15%. The North Caucasus, except Dagestan, remained in the same price category. At the same time, the cost of summer holidays in Crimea decreased by 30%. Hotels are ready to provide a discount to maintain a high load," said Volkov.

According to him, Dagestan is becoming one of the most popular places for tourists who want to relax by the sea, up to 90% of the total number of rooms is bought. However, the level of service is poorly developed here, Volkov noted.

Also, the cost of summer holidays has increased by about 15% in Karelia and Altai due to high demand. "There are places where a high tourist flow in the summer season has not been recorded before, for example, the Murmansk region, Yamal, Buryatia. Now those who are looking for an adequate price for a vacation prefer to go to such regions," Volkov added.
