OREANDA-NEWS  Sanctions have had an impact on the Russian restoration market, but it is being rebuilt and stabilized, Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said at a meeting at the Grabar Center.

"The sanctions have had an impact on the restoration market, but already now we can say that it is being rebuilt, stabilized, and we are trying and doing everything possible to ensure that it develops," the minister said.

She recalled that in 2022, the restoration of 32 real estate objects - cultural monuments - was completed. She mentioned the comprehensive restoration of the "Stationmaster's House" in the Leningrad region, and the restoration with adaptation to the museum use of three objects of the Pskov Museum-Reserve, forming the "museum quarter".

According to the Minister, work is continuing to preserve the historical appearance of the Novodevichy Monastery Ensemble, whose 500th anniversary will be in 2024. By this time, it is planned to complete a comprehensive restoration of 36 objects of the ensemble, 11 iconostases, as well as landscaping of the monastery territory.
