OREANDA-NEWS After the completion of the harvesting campaign at the Abrau-Durso vineyards in the Krasnodar Territory, everyone was allowed to harvest grapes. The newspaper "Life of Abrau" wrote about this.
According to Andrey Ermakov, general director of the company's viticultural division, quoted by the publication, the grape harvest in Abrau-Durso, Yuzhnaya Ozereevka and Bolshye Khutor is over, and now locals can "collect the leftovers of grapes, stepsons." "We will not prevent this," the representative of the Russian company emphasized.
Stepsons are called lateral shoots of the second order, which grow from the axils of the leaves on the main shoots. The berries on them ripen later, which is why they often do not fall under harvesting during the main campaign. Now, like the grapes on the main bushes, everyone can take them with them.
Grape harvesting this year began in Abrau Durso later than usual - in the last days of August — due to the cool weather. As the authors of the material remind, before that, security had detained those who tried to pick grapes during the harvest, and the local police chief emphasized that responsibility was provided for such illegal attempts.
Earlier it became known that a frost-resistant variety of Russian grapes called Sibiryak Potapenko was bred in Siberia.
