OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian Consulate in the Aland Islands (autonomy within Finland) was attacked again. This is reported by the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat, referring to the police.

According to her, the Russian consulate in Mariehamn, the administrative center of the Aland Islands, was attacked in the past days. According to the newspaper, the police of the islands detained one person late on Sunday, May 28, after about seven people staged a protest rally in front of the building of the Consulate of the Russian Federation in Mariehamn.

On the night of April 30 to May 1, 2023, an explosive noise device, as well as other objects, was thrown into the territory of the Russian foreign institution in Mariehamna.

In this regard, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Main Investigative Department of the TFR to organize an investigation of this incident, giving a proper legal assessment of the actions of persons involved in the attack on institutions enjoying international protection, as well as to request information from the Russian Foreign Ministry necessary for the investigation.
