TikTok was fined for violating the procedure for restricting access to information

OREANDA-NEWS The Tagansky Court of Moscow has imposed an administrative fine of 3 million rubles on TikTok, finding it guilty of violating the procedure for restricting access to information, the court's press service told TASS.
"By a decision of the Tagansky District Court of Moscow, TikTok Pte Ltd was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the procedure for restricting access to information, information resources, access to which is subject to restriction in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation). The court imposed a fine of 3 million rubles," the statement said.
According to Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation, violation of the procedure for restricting access to prohibited information by the owner of a website or information resource on the Internet entails the imposition of an administrative fine on legal entities in the amount of 800 thousand to 4 million rubles. In case of repeated offense, the amount of the fine will be increased to one tenth of the total amount of annual revenue.
In 2024, TikTok was twice brought to administrative responsibility under a similar article, fined 4 million rubles in July and November. Thus, the total amount of the fine amounted to 11 million rubles in 2024.
