OREANDA-NEWS. American film studio Universal Pictures is going to spend 200 million US dollars on shooting a film with Tom Cruise in outer space. This will be the first time in Hollywood history that a motion picture will be filmed outside of the Earth.

Deadline.Media reports that the actor, the director of the future film Doug Liman, as well as producers Christopher McQuarrie and P.J. van Sandwijk have agreed with Universal Pictures, which will be engaged in the production of the action adventure movie in space. However, the script has not yet been written, and Liman is engaged in its creation.

The source adds that the private company SpaceX, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, is ready to provide technical support for the film. It will deliver the crew into Earth orbit and return it back. Details are still unknown, but, most likely, the shooting is planned to be carried out on board the International Space Station.
