OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2013. Hefei Railway Station is due to issue a plan for the travel rush during the upcoming Spring Festival on Monday afternoon, sources said a day earlier.

The rail terminal has sold out almost all the tickets from Hefei, the capital of Anhui province, to such popular destinations as Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Chengdu, Chongqing and Harbin with the departure time before the Spring Festival, except standing-room-only and a few refunded ones, rail sources said.

Bullet train tickets to Wuhan of Hubei province are in short supply as many passengers bound to Sichuan province and the municipality of Chongqing find it hard to get a non-stop train ticket in Hefei and have to change at Wuhan Railway Station. 20 bullet trains run between Hefei and Wuhan every day.

On the contrary, tickets from the city to Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Jinan, Xuzhou and Nanchang and those for trips around the province are in moderately abundant supply.

Up to 44 temporary trains are set to go into operation to ease the travel strain, the railway station said. There will be a maximum of 130 pairs of trains via the city during the travel rush.

Further, the rail authorities will add more temporary trains or extend existing ones with additional carriages for popular locations and major destinations based on how well tickets sell.

Tickets can also be bought at 56 agencies dotting the city, among which five are opened round the clock, rail sources said.
