OREANDA-NEWS  The Company Suzuki is considering the possibility of bringing to the Russian market a new Suzuki Swift. This was reported to the agency "AUTOSTAT" by the press service of "Suzuki Motor Rus", by recalling that the departure of Suzuki Swift from the Russian market in 2015 is due to the economic crisis and price positioning.

"Due to the fact that Suzuki Swift is produced in Japan, its cost for the Russian consumer at the moment is quite high. In 2017, we do not plan to bring Suzuki Swift to the Russian market. But we are considering such an opportunity in the next year,"- said the press service.

Let's remind, the company Suzuki has presented new hatchback Swift on the International motor show in Geneva in March, 2017. The model received a new design, which differs by ultra light body (120 kg lighter than its predecessor), which helped to reduce fuel consumption and improve the running characteristics. In addition, the car is equipped with advanced solutions to protect the driver and passengers: Suzuki Swift introduced an innovative system of obstacle recognition and collision avoidance. In the European market Suzuki Swift is available in combination with two engines - the turbo engine Boosterjet 1.0 with direct fuel injection and the engine Dualjet 1.2 - and three types of transmission (6AT, 5MT and CVT).

As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", Suzuki also considers the possibility of bringing to the Russian market a subcompact crossover Ignis and a hatchback Baleno. At present, the Suzuki range in Russia includes crossovers Vitara, SX4 and Jimny. According to the results of six months of 2017, Russian dealers of Suzuki sold 2,039 cars, which is less by 29% than a year ago.
