OREANDA-NEWS  The production of metal structures with protective coatings as part of the investment project was opened in Cheremkhovo, it will reach full capacity in 2027 and will produce 40 thousand tons of products per year, the head of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev told reporters.

During a working trip to Cheremkhovo, the Governor of the Angara Region, Igor Kobzev, visited a newly opened plant for the production of metal structures with protective coatings, which was commissioned under an investment project. This is not the first trip of the head of the region to the facility. For the first time he visited the site when it was dilapidated workshops, on the second trip new equipment was already purchased, and now the plant is put into operation.

"The productivity of the enterprise, when it reaches full capacity, will amount to 40 thousand tons of products per year. Production is expected to reach full capacity in 2027. The investment project has passed the state environmental assessment. The plant is connected to the engineering infrastructure, an electric substation, a coal boiler house are located on the territory of the enterprise, a storm sewer system has been built, asphalt has been laid, repair work has been carried out in the workshops," Kobzev said.

He noted that Cheremkhovo is a single–industry town, and its socio-economic development is provided by the coal industry. The launch of such production opens up new opportunities for the development of the region's economy. The company has already created 87 jobs. The project is supported by the Irkutsk Region Development Corporation (KRIO).

Currently, the Cheremkhovsky plant is the only one in the territory from Novosibirsk to Vladivostok that produces metal structures with hot–dip galvanizing coatings. This allows the product to be protected from corrosion for up to 50 years. In case of minor mechanical damage, the coating has the ability to self-repair and continues to protect the base metal. The list of manufactured products includes supports, columns, floor beams, fences. The plant's products are used in various industries: These are the construction of industrial facilities, highways and urban infrastructure, railway transport, electric power, communications, agriculture. The product line will be expanded.

Cheremkhovsky Metal Structures Plant is a resident of the Cheremkhovo Advanced Development Area, which was established in 2018.
