OREANDA-NEWS. On April 16, 2007 VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation announced that John Monahan, President of Tirus, US will retire effective April 30, 2007. Michael Metz, currently Vice President, Commercial for Tirus, US has been named to succeed Mr. Monahan in his duties as President. Mr. Metz has over 20 years commercial experience in the titanium industry, including the past three years with Tirus, US, reported the press-centre of VSMPO-AVISMA.


Mr. Monahan founded Tirus, US in 2000 to improve the customer relationships and service of VSMPO in the North American market, and has built a strong team for VSMPO in what is the largest market for titanium in the world. “I have had a long career in the titanium business” said Mr. Monahan. “I am proud of the operations that we have established here in the US, and all the people on our staff that make these operations successful. I want to thank them for the hard work they have put in, and I am very confident in their ability to continue to represent VSMPO in the coming years. Mr. Monahan will continue to work as an advisor to Tirus, US following his retirement.
