OREANDA-NEWS. Power Machines has won a tender as a subcontractor in a consortium with the Mexican companies ICA and Peninsular to equip the La Yesca hydro-power plant (HPP) with a capacity of 750 Megawatts.

Under the contract Power Machines will deliver two 375 MW hydroturbines and other hydro-mechanical and electrical equipment to La Yesca by 2012.

The Power Machines contract for the delivery of two hydroturbines will be completed by 2012. The estimated cost of the project is $768 million, and Power Machines' share will amount to about $200 million.

La Yesca will be part of a cascade of hydro-power plants on the river, along with the existing 975 MW Aguamilpa and 750 MW El Cajon plants, whose generating equipment was also supplied by Power Machines.
