OREANDA-NEWS. The Cabinet of Ministers means to revise macroeconomic performances for 2008, on which the 2008 draft budget is based, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

According to the Finances Ministry's press service report, it was First Vice Prime Minister, Finances Minister Mykola Azarov, who charged to revise the figures considering economic performances and fulfilling the incomings plan over nine months of 2007, as well as macroeconomic expectations by 2007 close.

Now, the budget is being polished by Finance Ministry's staffers and the parliamentary budget committees' members preparing it for the first reading. Some 500 remarks and proposals have already been considered.

The government sources also denied information, spread by "Ekonomicheskiye Izvesiya" that the parliament of the 5th convocation was gearing up for tackling the budget in first reading on October 16, upon the Premier's initiative.

On Thursday, the president sent a letter to PM urging to consider his remarks to the 2008 budget. He claimed basic macroeconomic and social performances were lowered.

According to the draft budget 2008, the nominal GDP was set as to reach 810 bn. UAH, while the Secretariat of President predict the nominal GDP at minimum 860 bn. UAH.
