BMZ Implements Contract for Shipment of 7 Diesels to Vietnam
OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2007. The Bryansk Engineering Plant (BMZ) has implemented the Vinashin shipbuilding company (Vietnam) order for manufacture of seven marine diesels designated DB62 (6S50MC-С in MAN B&W classifier), reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.
The contact for delivery of seven DB62 marine diesels to Vinashin was concluded in 2005. The marine diesel engines supplied under the contract have a number of features. They are smaller and more powerful (12,900 h.p.) than previous versions (DB42, DB56). The engines are fitted with a brand new control system with a new-generation rate controller, a new oscillations-absorbing system, and a redesigned flywheel.
Under the contract Vinashin received two DB62 in 2006 with another five sent to the customer this year.
